The At Risk After School Supper program

Letter to Parents

We here at Bessemer City Schools now have four of our seven schools participating in the At Risk Supper Program. They are Abrams Elementary 3:15-4:30, Hard Elementary 3:15- 4:30, BCMS 3:01- 4:00, and BCHS 4:00-5:00.

These schools provide a hot meal Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons at no cost. We feel we can better stimulate a child’s mind by providing a balanced meal in the afternoon.

The At Risk After School Supper program is federally funded. This program is for any child 18 and under regardless if they attend school or where they attend school.

The program will run during the school calendar year. It will run until May 18, 2017  then if approved Summer Feeding Program will pick-up for June and July, and in August the At Risk Supper program will begin again and run until May.
