Better Internet Access

As most of you are aware, following our last Technology meeting, we switched over to the Alabama Research and Education Network (AREN) for our primary Internet feed.  This means that, while our Wide Area Network (your connection to the BOE) remains the same, the Internet feed for the District has increased in bandwidth from 1.5 Mbps to 10 Mbps... a 667 percent increase!  Along with this increase in bandwidth comes an upgrade of our Web Content Filtering service, now provided by AREN.

 Along with the Internet feed, ASC is also providing a Distance Learning classroom, located at Jess Lanier HS, as part of the ACCESS pilot program.
